Shine: Live Digital Painting Projection Exhibit

Call for Artists

Live Digital Painting Projection Exhibit

‘Shine’

Artists who use a Computer Graphics Tablet are invited to participate in a live painting exhibit.

This Public Art Exhibit will take place at the annual Muscatine Holiday Stroll on Friday, December 3rd on 2nd Street, Downtown Muscatine.

Artists’ work will be Projected onto a Downtown Storefront as it is created on a graphics pad. Artists will work in 15min time slots – multiple times are possible.

The graphics workstation will be set up in a store window so people can watch from the street or go inside (where it’s warm!) and watch directly.

Artists are not limited to holiday themed work – but of course are free to use holiday themes if they want. Work just needs to be appropriate for a public exhibit.

Platform: Mac. Graphics tablet: Wacom Intuos4 wireless

Class: Learn Spray Paint Art

Spray Paint Art Space Painting by Alma Ancel Valadez

Have you ever seen those street artists in tourist spots creating striking paintings with just cans of spray paint and a putty knife?  It looked fun didn’t it!

Learn how to make space scenes, islands, and any others using ordinary spray paint and a few hand tools.  The trick to creating these scenes is in the techniques.  You will learn things like how to add highlights to make the perspective really ‘pop’.  You’ll be surprised what you can turn out once you learn them.
