Make Marbled Paper!

Learn how to ‘Marble’ paper for gift cards, book binding & loads of other crafts.

Saturday, February 27

Marbled paper is fascinating to look at and useful for so many projects – including framing it just on its own!  Have you ever seen the wonderful marble looking swirly colors inside the front and back covers of antique books?  Well, you can do that at home and we’re going to learn how on Saturday, February 27.

The process is really fun and allows for lots of experimentation. There are endless ways to vary the results and no two sheets turn out the same.  It is also a tad messy.  Bring or wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on.

We will provide paint, trays, and other gear.

YOU should bring paper or cardstock to ‘marble’.

One other thing: the marbled pages will require time to dry. You should probably expect to pick up what you make at another time.  There are lots of ways we can work this out.

What you need to know:

  • Saturday, February 27
  • 10:00am – 1:00pm
  • Church of the Living Water, 3120 Park Ave W, Muscatine, IA
(We will be in the basement – go down stairs or drive around back.  Thank you to CLW for letting us use their project space!)
  • Bring a lunch for yourself.
  • This is designed for adults and older youth – kids 12 and older will fit right in.
  • Wear or bring old clothes you don’t mind getting paint on – you likely will!
  • Bring at least a dozen (more is ok) sheets of paper: cardstock, heavy typing paper, or any other paper you would like to try marbling.  Many kinds of paper will work but best results come from heavy, yet still flexible paper.   Size can range from small index cards up to about 16”x24”!  Index card sizes and slightly larger produce excellent results.
  • This workshop is FREE – please let us know if you plan to come but no registration required.
  • If you have any questions call:  563 260 5556  or email:  Andrew@DoNight.org

Invite a friend and come learn how to make striking ‘marbleized’ paper.
