Wondering what to do Tuesday evening? Wonder no more!

Sketch Tuesday and Flash Fiction are loads of fun. So, we’ve scheduled them for the whole month of April! Each Tuesday night we will do either Flash Fiction or Sketch night.

We’ll start with Flash Fiction:

Sketch Night (13)
Flash Fiction (20)
Sketch Night (27)

Of course we won’t hold down - if you feel you must start sketching on fiction night - no one will throw hatchets at you.

Sketch Nights: Whether you are a full on sketch artist or not so much - this will be a good time to practice and learn along with others.

Flash Fiction: …is a blast. You just might have the most fun writing since you first wrote your name on the bedroom wall when you were four.

These Project Nights combine friends, fun, activities, and the occasional fist fight…er, I mean, They are very relaxed evenings. Join us!

How to make Marbled Eggs! 

Friday, April 2     (Iowa City, IA)

Just in time for Easter we will be making Marbled Eggs.  We’ll be using a quick and fun method which you can use to make a whole basket of wildly colored Easter Eggs.

Just so ya know, the egg photo is borrowed from Martha Stewart and we’ll be exploring her egg dying technique on Friday night.

Bring as many eggs as you plan to make - a dozen is a good idea.  Choose large, plain white eggs.

Creating Characters in Short Stories

We’re doing it again!  Another DoNight Project Night is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 5.   Special Guest: author Hans Bluedorn.

Our featured activity is Flash Fiction! Our take on flash fiction is that we give everyone a sheet of paper and between 5-10 minutes and you write!  Specifically, we will be creating characters.   Yes, we’re going to experiment with developing characters in stories - very short stories.  Hans Bluedorn will pose a handful of scenarios and we will write our way through them.  Some exercises are individual and some are done with others.  All of it is designed to help us learn and riotously laugh out loud!  (Experience shows we have tolerant neighbors:-)

This is for total novices and seasoned writers alike - come and write some flash fiction.
